MOVED!!!

The first sight of our trailer at 12:45pm on November 20, 2008. What a relief to finally have it arrive (and in one piece). It was a tight corner but this semi driver had no problems.










Backing the house up into the lot. The Semi had to take a run at it because the roads were a bit slick. The trailer went in without any problems and was leveled very quickly by 2pm the trailer was ready for us to walk through. We started moving things in on Friday afternoon, finished on Saturday and with the help of electric heat slept in the trailer on Saturday night. Ou gas was hooked up on Tuesday so now we have furnace heat and hot water. It is just like we hoped it would be, no disappointments!

Trailer moving begins

October 16, 2008-The official moving day for our old trailer. What an experience; I arrived at the trailer at 9am today. The addition was on the flat deck trailer and last minute preparations were being made so it could be moved to it's new location. Next came the trailer moving...who knew it was such a lengthy process. The movers arrived at 7:30 this morning and began by attaching the hitch to the front of the trailer and several hours later at 11:30am the trailer was on the road. These pictures are just a few of the highlights of the morning. Our neighbors have all had their blinds open watching the happenings in our yard for the past couple of days but today was the big one.

Moving the addition was a lot harder than originally expected. The people who bought the trailer were responsible for moving the addition. They ended up having to remove the brick work from the front of the addition to help lessen the weight.








The hitch is on and even though from this angle it looks ready to go they had barely started...













Here they attached a small crane and lifted the front of the trailer up so that the wheels could be placed underneath. They raised and lowered and blocked and raised and lowered and blocked until the wheels were in the right place. It took them about 2 hours for this step.

And there goes the trailer, on it's way to a farm by Success, Sk (near Swift Current)












In the meantime we have been blessed with a small but cozy fourplex. We have about 1/3 of our things here and the rest is in storage. We hope that our new trailer will be here by the end of October but I guess we'll wait and see. For now our prayer is that the snow stays away long enough for our trailer to come and our skirting to be put on and after that we will welcome the snow and winter weather.

Marcus has been enjoying the outdoors more now that he can walk. He spent part of the morning playing with our neighbor's slide and swing set. I helped him go down the slide once and he had that figured out. He'd ask me to put him on the top and he'd scoot to the edge of the slide and push himself the rest of the way. What fun.

October News

Marc likes to sit on his rocking horse but sometimes he gets on backwards. He thinks it's pretty fun.

We were watching the bobcat and dump truck working on the empty lot beside our house. Marc thought this was fascinating and just sat there pointing.



We are officially starting to pack for phase one of our move. We are going to be staying in a fourplex for the interim between trailers. We aren't sure how long that will be but we are thankful that we can carry on with life and work etc. Once things start happening I'll post pictures of the trailers moving in and out etc. Should be interesting to watch! Hope everyone is enjoying the nice fall weather. I know we are thankful that it hasn't snowed yet!!!

Happy Birthday Marcus

Today is Marcus' first birthday, September 2, 2008.

We started off the celebrations in Saskatoon over the long weekend Marcus really enjoyed the blueberry, peach trifle that his grandma made. He opened a couple of presents and enjoyed ripping the paper off the dvd's he got from Great-Grandma Schroeder.













We then had a big birthday party for Marcus in Caronport on Sunday evening. I made him a Tow Mater Cake from Cars the movie. He gobbled up two mini cupcakes and thought they were pretty yummy. He then got to open his presents and had more fun ripping paper off to discover what was underneath...BOOKS AND TOYS. He got 3 different cars books, a fisher price tractor and car park toy, some bath toys and a Mater ride-on truck.


























































We will be having one more party tonight with some family that couldn't make it on the weekend so I will post those pictures tomorrow. For now, Happy Birthday Marcus.

Swimming for the first time...

We were finally were at a pool when Marcus was awake and somewhat happy so he had his first swimming experience. At first he didn't like it because his cousins were splashing but he soon was crawling around and enjoying the cool water.

Summer Fun

Well this is just a quick update as I've heard a couple complaints that there aren't enough pictures of Marcus. These ones today are ones with Marcus and Lucas, who is my friend Trish's little one who is 1 week older than Marc. Trish and Lucas were at our place saying goodbye as their family is off to Costa Rica for missions training then off to Cuba. I will miss having such a good friend for Marc (and me). The boys are so fun to watch even though they haven't mastered "playing" together yet. Anyways, hope you enjoy the pics.

Wow

Wow, what a summer it's been. Ian and I celebrated our 6th anniversary at the beginning of July and the summer has flown by since then.

The next biggest news is that we are moving...sort of. For those of you who keep up with us on Facebook you may have already gathered that something was going on. Now that Ian is more permanent in the workforce we have decided to upgrade our current living conditions. As of a couple of hours ago we sold our trailer that we are currently living in. At the end of October our trailer will be moved off of our current lot and a new one will be moved on. It is larger and brand new so we are very excited about this. This has consumed most of the last 6 weeks for us as we have been ironing out details on so many different levels. We are very excited about this but there are still a few items that will be tricky, at least for now the hard part is done!

Marcus is growing up so fast, he is getting quite the personality and is lots of fun to be around (ha I write this after a day where Marc screamed for most of it!! Oh well). Marcus is learning to walk now. He has taken several steps in a row, and while it's still must safe and faster for him to crawl he is starting to willingly take steps toward things on his own. He is figuring out how the world around him works and has mastered the 2 front steps we have. This gives him many minutes of entertainment as now he can get to the piano. Marcus can say please in sign language and he can also say "Ah Da!" which translated means "all done!" We are working on a few others now but he seems to think everything he needs (food) can be summed up in these two phrases. It's hard to believe, but he is going to be one year old in three weeks. In my mind he should just be crawling and about 8 months old. Guess I better catch up with the times before he's 18 and I miss it all!

We have been blessed this summer and I hope that you have been too.

Summer Family Pictures

Summer is finally here and after enduring a few weeks of rain we are once again enjoying the sunshine. Marcus is now crawling around and getting into all kinds of mischief. We are enjoying this time with him as he is learning to communicate his wants and now to some degree he can go where he wants to so that has been nice. Ian is still enjoying his job and just finished a crazy work week with the high school grad festivities creating lots of over time work for him. I am still loving being at home and cherish my time with Marcus.

We had some pictures taken yesterday and Marcus is 9 1/2 months old in these pictures. I included just a few of them and will try and add more soon.

May 2008

Well May has been a busy month for us so far. Ian started his new job on May first and on May 3rd Ian's brother Brent got married so we were involved with that. Brent and Becca are married and are living in Caronport so we get to see them often which is really nice.

Marcus is changing by the day. a couple of weeks ago he had no interest in crawling but now he almost has it figured out. He can move forwards but I wouldn't call is crawling yet. He is full of smiles and mischief so it is only a matter of time until my nice quiet house is transformed. I must admit I enjoy every minute of it so far. Marcus is discovering new things and spends lots of time just looking at a toy trying to figure out a new button, knob or piece. He is growing like a weed still. At 7 months he was 30 inches and 20 pounds. He is well over the 20 lb mark now and I will find out next month how much he has grown. I still have trouble keeping pants long enough on him but now that it is almost summer shorts are wonderful!




















Ian is enjoying his new job. He says that he looks forward to going to work and enjoys the people and atmosphere a lot. He has been very challenged at work but is getting into the groove and I think it is a perfect fit for him.

I hope you all enjoy watching Marcus grow up, I know we are enjoying having him in our lives. We laugh so much with him around so I am cherishing it while I can and taking pictures so I can remember.

Spring has sprung

Well today is April first and tomorrow Marcus turns 7 months old. He is growing so fast it is hard to keep up with all the changes. The biggest one being clothes sizes. Marc has been sitting on his own for a while and is now rolling all over the place. It won't be long and he'll be trying to crawl.
The end of February took us over seas to visit Ian's dad in Tbilisi, Georgia. It was so nice to get away and relax. Of course the warmer weather was very much enjoyed! (+20ish) Marcus had lots of fun with his grandpa and we have many pictures to prove it. Ian and I got some quadding in and we thoroughly enjoyed it!


The flights were long but Marcus is a trooper and took the time change and travels in stride. He slept for most of the flights and only suffered a couple of days of jet lag on the way home. Thanks to our trip Marcus is now sleeping through the night and I am enjoying that immensely! He is eating like there's no tomorrow, 4-6 oz bottles and then 4-5 oz of food. This means he is growing quickly and has already outgrown most of his 6 month size clothes and is wearing anything from 9-18 month sizes depending on arm and leg lengths. Cheerios and puffed wheat pieces are the newest challenge as Marc is figuring out how to use his fine motor skills to get the tiny food into his mouth. He gets more in his mouth everyday and less on the floor (for which we are thankful for!)

We have had a couple of goodbye's this month as we decided it was time for Cotton to have a new home. It was hard to see him leave but it has been nice not to have animals to worry about and take care of on top of a baby. Ian's Grandpa who was 98 passed away just before Easter so we attended his funeral last weekend. It was hard to say goodbye but we know that he was an amazing man of God so he is now home; rejoicing in Heaven. The month of March sped by with all this activity and now with finals around the corner for Ian it seems as though April will pass us by quickly too.

Our biggest news is that Ian has accepted a full time job with the school (Briercrest) starting May 12th. We are very excited for the position as it is with the Information Services and Productions Department. His official title is Systems Analyst. What this means exactly I'm not sure how to explain but essentially he is using his schooling and skills in computers so he is VERY excited about this opportunity. Ian isn't quite done school, he has 10 classes left, but he will work on them while he works so that is a huge blessing that he can work and go to school. I have decided not to go back to work so Ian's job makes this decision even more joyous for me. I love staying home with my little bundle of joy and am so excited that I can continue to stay home.

I think that has caught everyone up on our lives. A lot has happened in a short time but it seems that is how life goes sometimes. Take Care and God Bless
